Making Accountability More than a Buzz Word
The premise
During elections politicians publicly state many campaign planks (or principles) and promises relating to what they will achieve while in office. To most citizens, election promises are meant to be kept. It has become exceedingly obvious over the years that politicians take these promises lightly, often forgetting or ignoring what they committed to during their election campaigns. The goal of this initiative is to track and report, how well each politician keeps their promises while in office.
What we are committed to doing:
- Track campaign promises - Our project will have a nation wide database of campaign promises of elected politicians at all three levels of government
- Provide trustworthy and credible reports - Come election time, we will release accountability report cards on politicians seeking re-election
- Activate Canadians - This initiative will give concerned citizens, from all political stripes, an outlet for their patriotism throughout the election cycle; from pre-election, to post-election, to re-election.
- Restore voter confidence and reduce apathy - We firmly believe that as politicians become more accountable, citizens will have more confidence in the political process and will be more likely to vote at election time
